Hard job finding employment
IT takes a stretch to high five former professional basketball player Andre Moore.
''He's so tall, you have to leap up to touch,'' says Sigourney Farrelly.
It symbolises the distance Ms Farrelly believes she has travelled since starting a program which is aimed at getting Australia's most vulnerable jobseekers back into work.
The Daisy Hill jobseeker has completed the first part, which has involved team building and mentoring from the sporting hero.
''I don't know much about basketball but he has helped me to look at things differently. It has been awesome.''
The 22-year-old said a lack of confidence was one of her main problems.
''I do get down on myself. It is hard not to,'' she said.
''I've had jobs, but they have been short term.
''Just bibs and bobs. It doesn't look good on the resume.''
She said the mentoring had been great.
''We are learning about setting short-term manageable goals as well as having overall goals,'' she said.
The ultimate dream for her is to work with animals.
''But for now I just want a job, any job - except perhaps telemarketing,'' she said.
''I know I can do it and I really do want a job.''
